Traditional Use Another member of the B vitamin group, Cyanocoblamin, or vitamin B12, helps convert food into energy. It is needed to produce the myelin sheaths that coat nerve cells; to form red blood cells; and for a healthy immune system. The B vitamins also help to maintain healthy hair. People with a deficiency of vitamin B12 may experience impaired mental functions.
