Traditional Use Biotin is a water soluble vitamin and a member of the B-complex family. Its primary function is as a coenzyme in carbohydrate, amino acid, and lipid metabolism. Biotin is essential for cell growth and replication through its role in the manufacturing of DNA and RNA.

Origin and Sources Found in foods including cheese, kidney, liver, cauliflower, eggs, mushrooms, nuts, sardines and salmon. Considerable amounts of biotin are also synthesised by microorganisms in the intestinal tract.
