Xiongcane

雄蠶蛾 又名僵蠶

Bombyx mori L.

History of Use First appeared in Divine Husbandman's Classic of the Materia Medica.

Traditional Use Xiongcane, a salty, acrid medicine that is neutral in nature, enters the liver, lung and stomach meridians. It is useful for tonifying kidney yang, aiding recuperation, expelling wind heat and extinguishing wind.

Origin and Sources Obtained Bombyx mori L. larvae, the dried body of the silkworm larva that has died from white muscardine disease.
