Vita Green Social Responsibility

Vita Green aims to promote a caring, sharing community and is proud to play an active part in local life. Over the past few years we have been able to lend our support to all walks of life, from kindergarten children to medical professionals. We have donated funds to help the important work of the Hong Kong Medical Museum, sponsored World Heart Day and regularly take part in scientific research carried out at a range of universities including the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Our fundraising campaign to mark World Sleeping Day in March 2004 generated enough money to establish a telephone hotline service for insomnia sufferers, enabling them to contact the “Friends of Sleep” organisation, an association of professionals dispensing help and advice.

In early 2005, Vita Green organised the Contemporary Calligraphy Competition to promote the practice of Chinese calligraphy as an aid to focus the mind. More than 1000 entries were received, and through the event we were able to promote renewed interest in this ancient craft.

Among our most popular ventures was a sponsored colouring competition for Hong Kong kindergarten students. The theme was The Healthy World of Lingzhi Honey, and more than 7,000 children drew on their creative and expressive skills to produce some wonderful artwork for the occasion.

Promoting Environmental Protection

Vita Green strongly promotes environmentally friendly practices in its facilities. Our production line long ago banned the use of PVC materials, which are toxic and cannot be recycled. Instead we use packaging materials that meet strict environmental protection requirements. Supplements sold in capsule form are even available in vegetable-based capsules produced from plant tissues to replace those made from animal sources.

Vita Green is committed to using non-toxic and non-animal materials.

Promoting medical knowledge

Vita Green’s mission is to bring health, joy and youth to the public. For more than ten years, Vita Green has regularly organised joint symposiums with the Hong Kong Chinese Medical Association, the Chinese Doctors Association and the Association of Hong Kong Nursing Staff. We have invited specialists from a range of disciplines to share their expert knowledge of the most cutting-edge medical advancements with health-care professionals, as well as organised public talks by top doctors on a range of common health problems. These free, public seminars are open to all and give people a unique chance to talk to the best health professionals about medical problems that directly affect their lives.

Publications on health

Passionate and dedicated to the advancement of Chinese traditional medicine as we are, Vita Green has helped increase public and professional knowledge of one of the most precious medicinal herbs, lingzhi. The late Professor Chiu Kai Ting dedicated his life to the study of lingzhi, and with our sponsorship, his daughter has been able to publish his resulting research. Copies of The Past And Present of Lingzhi – A Perspective have been donated to various institutions and public libraries as a tribute to the professor. Other books from Vita Green include The Messages Of Lingzhi Users, Lingzhi In The Eyes Of Western Doctors, Listen To My Heart, Yunzhi And Cancer Therapy and Silver Lining Of The Rainbow.
